PL-390

The Tecsun PL-390 has a different look and a

different sound. It covers medium wave 520-1710

kHz shortwave 2300-21950 kHz and the FM band.

It has a very unique Easy Tuning Mode (ETM).

ETM does more the usual ATS. It scans all fre-

quencies without taking up the memory spaces.

So you get quick access to all local stations, plus

direct keypad entry. Great for the traveller. There

are also 450 regular memories for tuning into your

favorite stations. The PL-390 has dual speakers

and even employs DSP (Digital Signal Process-

ing) technology, improving clarity and tone qual-

ity. The PL-390 can be powered by three AA

batteries (not included). It also has 5V mini-USB

DC input jack (for use when

rechargeable

batteries are installed). With soft carry case,

stereo ear buds, wire antenna and manual.

The Tecsun PL-398MP is a capable longwave,

AM, FM and shortwave receiver and doubles as a

music player! To use the PL-398MP as a music

player simply plug in an SD card (not supplied)

with your favorite MP3 tunes. You can tune this

radio via manual tuning, auto scan tuning, preset-

ting manual scan tuning, memory preset auto

scan tuning, memory preset address direct entry

tuning and direct frequency entry via the keypad.

Both the display and the input keys are backlit.

You get a total of 550 memories: 100 each for LW,

MW and FM and 250 for shortwave. The display

shows frequency, signal strength, battery con-

sumption and temperature. The 12/24 hour clock

has a sleep timer. Other features include: key

lock, dual speakers, meter band display, alarm by

radio or buzzer. Operates from three AA batteries

to 513 kHz, medium wave 520 to 1710 kHz (9 or

10 kHz steps), shortwave from 2300 to 21950 kHz

(1 kHz resolution). Tune by: jog dial manual dial

tuning, auto scan tuning, preset manual scan,

memory auto scan, and direct digital entry. This

radio has a backlit digital display with signal meter,

12/24 hour clock, temperature and battery con-

sumption. Other features include dual speakers,

alarm with snooze and sleep, stereo FM and key

lock. This radio has Bluetooth technology that

allows you to wirelessly play your Bluetooth music

The Degen DE1127 is an

innovative portable radio

covering AM (520-1710

kHz), shortwave (2.3-23

MHz) and FM. The radio

features 248 (FM 99, MW

50, SW 99) memories.

Tuning is via up-down but-

tons. There is also a use-

ful ATS (Auto Tuning Sta-

tion) function that tunes

available signals and

stores them in memory.

The DE1127 has a built-in

clock with sleep function.

The Tecsun PL-880 offers features not previously

available in a radio of this size and price. As

expected, you get full coverage of long wave 100-

519 kHz, AM from 522-1700 kHz, shortwave from

1.7-30 MHz and FM from 64-108 MHz. Designed

for the serious listener and DXer, you can select

four bandwidths in AM mode: 9, 5, 3.5 or 2.3 kHz

and five bandwidths in SSB mode: 4, 3, 2.3, 1.2

and 0.5 kHz. This radio even has interesting

undocumented features such as sync. lock, vari-

able muting, adding seconds display, etc. The

PL-880 includes: carry pouch, ear buds, wire

antenna, USB cable and #18650 Li-ion battery.
